本書(shū)分緒論、上篇、下篇、結(jié)束語(yǔ)四個(gè)部分，其中緒論和結(jié)束語(yǔ)介紹了編寫(xiě)本書(shū)的緣起，以及近20年來(lái)參與式作物選育種的新變化、新趨勢(shì)和新特點(diǎn)。上篇是來(lái)自國(guó)外的7個(gè)案例研究，對(duì)非洲、南美以及南亞、東南亞國(guó)家的參與式作物選育種案例進(jìn)行分析。下篇講述的5個(gè)中國(guó)案例，主要是對(duì)宋一青博士及其團(tuán)隊(duì)在西南地區(qū)開(kāi)展社區(qū)種子保育、社區(qū)種子庫(kù)建設(shè)以及農(nóng)民參與式選育種的案例進(jìn)行分析。
