本輯刊發(fā)考古發(fā)掘與調(diào)查簡報4篇，公布了青海玉樹、重慶忠縣、四川成都和安岳等地的考古新資料；收錄論文11篇，分別對寶墩文化起源、四川涼山地區(qū)史前文化、青海大通常寧遺址齊家文化制陶工藝、西南地區(qū)三叉格銅劍的年代與源流等問題進行探討。同時刊發(fā)紀念論文1篇，深切緬懷為西南民族考古研究作出杰出貢獻的已故著名考古學家汪寧生先生。
